Vineyards

We produce a modern style Bordeaux with respect for the rich tradition of this famous region

Our vineyards used for the production on Bordeaux Supérieur and Bordeaux Rosé are located in St-Pey-de-Castets at around 2 minutes from Castillon la Bataille. The soil is mainly alluvial clay limestone. Carieties planted are Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are closely monitored and soil test carried our regularly as well as petiole analysis to assess the state of the vineyard. We use Guyot Double and imple for pruning and regularly employ green harvesting nd leaf plucking to avoid an type of overcropping or underripeness in our grapes. A team of skilled vineyard workers is employed for viticultural work under supervision of Chantal Smeets, who, when needed seeks the advice of a consulting viticulturalist with many years of experience.

Our white wine, L’Esprit Du Chateau Cadaulan is produced in the neighbouring village on a calcareous, gravel based soil. Here viticultural methods are the same as above.

The vineyards used in the production of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux are situated in the village of S-Magne de Castillon and are on a more Sandy and poor soil type. Here, largely the same methods as above are applied, but even more carefully as the vines are in a 1x1 meter and are very old making them relatively fragile.
